Looks beautiful! I vote for the walnut stain, then if you don't like it you could paint it black. But I'm no pro, just a regular person who spent last June through September picking colors and stains for my own old house. We have a front door area that we wanted to stain. We tried about four different stains til we landed on the right one - some were too "honeyish", some were too red. I was about to give up and paint it.The one we finally decided on was Jacobean. I love the look of a richly stained front door. Good luck with your choices. Looking forward to hearing what others have to say.

Here are two colors that I use frequently for a great pop of color. Remember doors are meant to be painted, if they are not a beautiful wood like mentioned above. It's an easy way to change your mind.

I had a similar dilemma, but started with the door stained thinking I could always paint later, and I love it and am keeping it for foreseeable future. But if your wood door would be better painted, I love something like the C2 Cognac that Mandeville proposed, or maybe something along that line but slightly brighter/oranger.

This would be great. It would tie in the siding on 2nd floor.
