kitchen layout adding cabinets back splash under cabinet lights

I am removing the L shaped section cook top stove & cabinet below. What about adding a breakfront on the wall common to the laundry wall- eat in area has a window on the same wall as kit sink. Any thoughts on honed granite ---is it a problem to live with ?
