I think a dark accent on the TV wall is a very good idea. You have lots of sunlight here, so depth of colour shouldn't be a problem, and a dark ( you might even go black) wall there will make the TV recede. That said, I suggest you work on furnishings and carpet before finalizing paint decisions - it is easier to adjust colour on the walls than furnishings.

You mentioned Sherwin-Williams and the store by us offers a very inexpensive interior design service. If you buy their paint, I think part of the cost of the designer goes toward the paint. It's worth asking. To think through the colors you want ask yourself: What mood do I want to set? What colors do I associate with my personality? What style am I going for and what examples can I find of that style? Search online for that style to find images of rooms with a similar style and see what they used. You have to take into account the color of your tile, though. It looks neutral, but photos aren't good at reproducing color, so it also looks like it has some red in it. If you have one, bring a tile with you to the store and work with that.

The tile will be changed eventually probably a year or to down the road. It looks that the previous owners did it them selves so it's not terrible but isn't uniform. I'm going for a semi modern look but don't want that overly done gray but I do like some grays and blues to be mixed in with the room. I'll definitely stop by the sherwin williams store since I've just been going to lowes and getting color matched samples. Another question what to do with the area between the couch and bay window. I'm going to put a cushion on top maybe have a chair or two over there for a little reading, conversation area?

How about a chaise lounge in that corner?
