Try centering the dinning table with the console unit by the window, otherwise the layout looks open and airy.

I'm tempted to say you should switch the dining room with the living room. The living room furniture isn't quite fitting where it is now, and you'll get a much better view while you're lounging.

Wow, I also was going to suggest switching the two rooms.

Would mean that floating shelf for tv would have to be moved. Put it in the middle of the two windows where the AC is. Then one sofa under window the other directly facing the tv.

Get a more colorful rug to anchor the furniture, or even a white or cream. You need some contrast with the furniture.

Your dining area would now be oriented like this from the kitchen:

Try switching, that was my first thought without reading the messages.
Right now no one at your table can enjoy the great view, so try it at the other end of the room. The table should be rotated too, the length left to right from this view.

The furniture looks all smooched in and plastered against the walls. Try the sofas closer together to form a conversation area, either facing one another perpendicular to the bar, or one facing that great view with the back to the bar, and other a a right angle. Turn the rug perpendicular too, and put a coffee table between.

Give it a few days, and see what you think.

This is so much better! See if you can move the sofa on the window on the opposite side so you can see the views. You'd have to shift all the furniture further towards the window so you have room on this side. Not sure if that will work, but this configuration is a lot better.

Think you need to turn the carpet that is by the tv. That way you can move the sofa closer to the tv and leave more room for entering from the front door. Leave yourself a "traffic lane".

Put at least the front legs of each sofa on to the rug.

Same in the dining area. Put the console with the baskets under the picture and turn the table and rug so they are lengthwise.'

How it is now...

I think from this point on, it's about how it feels with the flow of the room. You can tweak it, move the furniture around, etc, but this configuration is much nicer than what you started with. Enjoy!

Try using the white console between the facing sofas as a coffee table. It's just in the way as it is. If nobody has mentioned it--remove those little shelves and any other artsy items that are up close to the ceiling.

I would take the blue rug away. You don't really need it under your dining table.

Take away the floating shelves also. I would elevate the plant onto a pedestal table in the corner of the dining room. Replacing the art with a mirror and a shell chandelier over the table....


Living room, take the white square end table to the other end of the sofa. Push the sofa that in under the window towards the tv. Pull the sofa directly facing tv closer to tv. Put the front feet of sofas on to the area rug.
