I'm already 'conflicted' about the modern stainless/electronic stove and the French detail above. I think subway tile would just add another conflicting element for me. If I added anything I think a tumbled element would be softer, compatible to the FP in the adjoining space and warm like the cabinetry.

white marble subway tiles, that's what I just did...love to! The greys compliment the stainless steel and there are so many variations in the stone that it looks nice with white or off white cabinets
Just make sure to seal it!

Hi! Backsplashes are great for helping to protect your walls from getting all gross with cooking. There are some really beautiful options out there that will blend nicely with what is already existing in your kitchen. Subway tile would be really nice you could even look at natural stone or some glass options too. We wish you the best of luck with your decision!

I would definitely do a subway tile or something simple - such a beautiful kitchen should have a backsplash

Please consider removing the granite splash before you tile - it chops the wall up.
