I would be tempted to leave the ledges empty, but put artwork above them.

I have almost the same thing, except mine extends fully over the front door. We installed a can light in the part over the front door to add a little "romantic" light when on and it also allows light in the foyer at night without having the massive overhead on.

For Christmas, we put a 6 foot fake tree on the ledge. It looks wonderful framed in the big window. But that is a pain in the neck to get up there.

For the rest of the year, I have some large scale choice pieces on each side, including a metallic cat statue, since we have several rescue cats in our home. And like karen paul says, it makes me smile every time I see it.

What-ever you put up there remember that it will collect dust. Be willing to get up there regularly to clean. I'm thinking you need something simple, like a couple of large urns/vases or sculptures. Or leave it bare. There's nothing wrong with bare. By the way, I love our light fixture.

Live plants need watering, silk collect dust and as previously mentioned, just don't look natural in that space.

HI -- If you hung some drapes on the windows filling the sides to the walls then you won't need anything on the ledge . You could just add one big garden statue like a reclining Buddha - something long and low that won't distract from that amazing chandelier . Designtoscana.com --- I love the seated angel with the big long wings .

Is that red carpet on that ledge? I can't tell by the dark picture. If so, I think downplaying the surface of the ledge is all you need to update the space. (Maybe drywall and paint same colour as walls?) I wouldn't put anything up there. The chandelier is GORGEOUS, no need to distract from it.

Oh sorry, it maybe hardwood? I am not sure.

Its just hardwood floors i wasnt planning on putting anything there i just moved in and everyone who came to visit asked what you going to put up there? I hadnt really thought of it. I get lazy to et to the stuff on top of my kitchen cabinets nevermind there. I was thinking large urns/vases. Would only be able to do fake plants if i wanted to go that route. Im not sure as of now im gonna finish my foyer and leave it blank maybe something will catch my eye. Thanks so much for the ideas though ill keep em in mind

Really like the idea of sculptures or decorative baskets, keeping in mind the accessibility for cleaning.

If it was me.. I would be trying to find away to make a small landing to get to the ledge and square the ledge off making it a useful space

I also suggest you leave it empty. Anything above eye level will pull the attention into the empty space above.
