Kitchen Appliances

I have had such an amazing experience here on Houzz talking about flooring and design, I wanted to throw this question out for discussion. I am building a new house and putting together my list of appliances that I want. Love to cook, so I want a dual fuel range. I was all set to get the GE Profile series, but then I started reading really awful reviews. Do you have a favorite appliance brand? I have two Fridgedaire products and will never buy anything from them again. Suggestions please?? Thanks in advance.

Did you have measurements of the appliances you were looking to purchase? For example, dual-fuel GE Profile ranges are only available in 30-inches. Other brands feature wider widths like 36 and 48-inch models. If 30-inches is your desired width, check out Bosch's new lineup of ranges. Kitchenaid also has some nice looking, and good performing, dual-fuel ranges.

Thanks Kieffer - since we are building from scratch, I can spec whatever I need. I'm inclined to go 36". I saw the 4 burner Kitchenaid in a friend's house recently and there just isn't enough cook space. I was dual fuel for sure.

Opting for a 36" Dual-Fuel range opens up many possibilities (Wolf, Viking, GE Monogram, Dacor, Kitchenaid, Thermador, and many more). You could choose between a 6 burner cooking surface, a 4 burner with a griddle in the center of the cooktop, or a 4 burner with a grill in the center. If going with a grill, please make sure your ventilation system is top notch as grill inside generates copious amounts of smoke.

And if you are going to purchase any hood more powerful than 400CFM's a replacement air system is now required in 49 states. Depending on your needs and climate it can be very expensive.
