Yes, you can have the marble look using porcelain. I have marble in my bathroom, and I would never do it again. Stains so easily; it was not worth the money.

You need to be really careful on marble look alike tile. Some of it is really good and some of it is really bad. Make certain you check the pattern repeat if you decide to go this route. It can look really unnatural if you can clearly see repetition in the tile patterns. The good stuff is expensive and sometimes almost the price of real marble. In my opinion you'll be better off mixing a solid ceramic or porcelain in with marble.
