Help finding paint colors and stains to update new home

My husband and I bought our first home recently and I am excited to start painting and updating! We want to: 1. Find a pallete of cohesive paint colors to use throughout the home 2. Restain/update the honeyoak (floors, trim and window casings) throughout the home 3. Help the home feel light and airy and open. There is some natural light on the main floor, but my concern is that all the wood coupled with our mostly chocolate/espresso furniture will look so heavy. We are leaning towards restaining the wood floors to a blonde color and restaining the trim and window casings to a slightly darker color/less honey looking color.
I'm struggling to know what paint colors would help our home feel light and airy despite all the dark furniture and wood. I like BM Pale Smoke and BM Revere Pewter as a starting point. Advice on a paint color palette, and/or stains for the floor and wood trim would be most helpful. Also, wanting to find a light color for the main entry which opens up into an open familyroom/kitchen/nook. Thank you for any ideas you can offer!
