Hi there! The floor here are white oak that were custom stained onsite by our hardwood floor finisher. The goal was to have it emulate walnut. The finish is a satin polyurethane top coat. I hope this helps! Please follow us on Houzz to see all of our project updates!

Thank you, my stain will have to be custom made on site but this stain looks richer than walnut. Is it a mix with Jacobean or ebony and walnut or a walnut with coffee? My guy is asking me what I want to mix up and will give me three or 4 choices, I don't want to make him nuts but it's hard to name the stains to mix looking at min wax strips on a paper!he is coming in next weekend to make me samples so I am having stain anxiety!!

I'm sure it's too late now, but also, Minwax isn't the only wood stain out there, many more wonderful professional brands :)

    rbenamou...
This post is months old, however...
As much as I hate to agree with Oak & Broad (lol) I'll have to in this instance...

If you ask your flooring "expert" to get you into a specific color range, he should be capable of doing so... not expect you to plug in the formula for him. And as far as worrying about "making him nuts" that ship has sailed... we're all crazy to be in this business!

The pay must be pretty good. I've never met anyone who works just to make himself nuts.

The "nuts" part is just a fringe benefit... I'll be the 1st to admit my primary motivation is the $$$.
That is... when some dumpster diving, bargain hunting online gutter snipe isn't trying to sucker me into giving them top end quality for the "online special pricing" they saw for low quality import "junk-in-the-box"...
Oh-oh... was I using my "out loud" voice again?
Sometimes that happens when I forget to take my "happy pills" lol
