HELP Please. Our living room in the middle of a complete overhaul !! All the hodge podge of hand me down furniture is out and my husband insists on a sectional. Enclosing pics of current space and with tape on the floor.....lol. My question is what size? I have two options for this approx 14 X 14 space. he wants an L shape without a chaise and I found one that is 97"x97" or 110"X110", Any suggestions for the rest of the space would be great! Thank you!

Your room really isn't conducive to a sectional - Placed like that, it will block off the rest of your home from the sitting area.

You would be better off with a sofa and a pair of chairs again, with a large coffee table in the center.

Somehow this is a difficult room for me, more than any other home I've had, To me, the room would be blocked off same as it is now, with 2 points of entry.

You still have space to get between the chairs, table and sofa now - As a sectional, you'll have no place to walk into other than the ends.

I would actually consider placing your sofa facing the window, then a pair of chairs nearer the window, angled towards the center of the room and the sofa so that one could easily move into the room between the seating.

You will be much better off with a 3 seater sofa and seperate pair of matching arm chairs w/ ottomans. My living room is 14 x14 and I tried a sectional for a few yrs. Never ever never again I say . There was no way to move things around and It caused trouble at Christmas Time for the tree. It just filled up the room too much. if you shop at a better furniture store they may let you try some furniture on approval . If you have their in house designer help you then it shoudn't be a problem. If you have your room measurements the room can be planed out on paper or on a computer program.

I feel that the sectional would be a mistake, possibly worse with a chaise as one of the sides. Your best option is as stated above. The way it is now (or with a sectional) visually makes your space look smaller and feel less welcoming than it could be. It isn't just a matter of entry points. It gives you the same feeling as if you put up little knee walls around the room. You feel penned in, like a playpen. You also don't need the pieces that you currently have in front of the window or the sofa table that you are using as a side table. It's too much furniture for the space.
