You can also hang folding chairs on the wall (with sturdy hooks) to hang clothes and set shoes or hats on (the seat) to dry, when they are not in use you can fold them (almost) flat. I saw where a person had used them as extra storage in a guest/office space, but didn't save the image.... they are fairly inexpensive and come in different finishes.
