Crown Molding With Bullnose?

One of the features of our remodel is the addition of soffits and tray ceilings to almost every room. On the main floor, we started in the master bedroom and, even though the walls had the bullnose edging, we used the 90 degree edging on the tray because we added the built up crown molding inside the tray. The result is beautiful. Downstairs, however, all bedrooms and the kitchen/bar area all have tray ceilings done with bullnose without crown. If we do the family room ceiling downstairs with the bullnose as well, does anyone have experience with adding crown molding at a later date? Does the curvature of the bullnose take away from the clean sharp edges of the crown?
