Is there a mitered edge and how thick?

The soapstone looks thicker than I usually see it. I'm curious if you did a mitered edge and if so how? Where is the seem...at the top 90 degree corner or is it stacked? Thanks

Is the mitered countertop raised and built up with plywood underneath the countertop so drawers will open? Or are the cabinets lower?

the cabinets are lowered so the finished height is 36". There is 3/4" plywood to support the 2 inch drops.
