So I'm pretty sure that I've read that laminate flooring does not do well if it gets standing water on it. We're redoing the flooring in the front half of our house, which includes the front door and entryway, with laminate flooring. We're in WI so we have snow being tracked in in the winter, rain in the spring, etc.

Is laminate flooring a bad idea in the entryway? Is it fine if we have a large rug to fill up the main entry area? Should we not use it at all and go with tile or something else in that area?

Just looking for any personal experiences or advice so we can figure out what we're going to do.
