The termination of the backsplash tile at the snack bar is awkward.

Couple things- you should consider a white microwave and dishwasher to match the other appliances. Paint the shelf white too. I do not know what material this backsplash is but I like it better with no backsplash. I think a white beadboard backsplash would look good;)

Another thought on the backsplash. I think a lighter grout would have been a better choice.

The backsplash is glass. I hand cut each pice hand fused them. This is my own design pattern and application. The backsplash will continue to the door frame with a bullnose edge above and below in that area.

Correction of wording... Hand cut each piece and fused them.

Thank you for your feedback on this. This is my first attempt at anything like this. I will consider changing out the appliances, that should make a difference. Again thank you.

Robin- I applaud your creativity. I think I would try your technique on an accent wall or maybe in a powder room;) I think the wavy pattern is just to much for this small area and therefore confuses the eye. We do mean the best in our critiques;)

on the dish washer, just order a door that matches your cabinets and attach it to the front. I did the same for my kitchen, but I will have stained Walnut and I bought an unfinished panel to put in front of my bisque dishwasher even though all my other appliances are bisque. I was trying not to have a break in color along the same cabinet wall.

Not a fan of the back splash, especially how it's terminated on the side. Looks weird.

I would get rid of the backsplash.

I think these spots where the counter and the cabinets end in different places are very difficult to negotiate. All the designers say that you are supposed to do what you did and extend the backsplash until the end of the counter. But in this case I am not so sure it worked. I DO think you needed to lighten and brighten up that whole area under the bottom of your cabinets--and it definitely worked 100% beautifully in the area around the fridge and stove.

Maybe the real issue here is what you can do in the rectangular area to the right of that last cabinet, above the backsplash that extends out over the countertop....it still feels unfinished. I think that relocating the clock is a must. And the you need to do something to tie the cream/ivory of your cabinets in with the dark green of your wall and the extreme white of the tiles. It might be a good spot for some framed art/photos or something like that: with frames the color of the cabinets, mattes the color of the walls, and white backgrounds. something like that. You just want to make sure that what ever you do stays within the boundaries of that space (the edge of the tile on the right, and the top of the cabinets above).

In a large modern kitchen with much more open wall space, the backsplash would look gorgeous.

I like your creative backsplash, but....
Appliances need to match, and I would eliminate all the stuff on top of cabinets and much of the stuff on the counters. I would remove valence and use a simpler window treatment. I think your backsplash needs to be the star.
