What specifically do you need help with? Just glancing over the photos, this room needs a better ceiling light--whether a chandelier, pendant or ceiling mount. (Do you have any preferences or need suggestions for fixtures?) It also needs more layers of lighting: table lamps, floor lamps or both, perhaps, so you can have more or less light as needed.

Hi! I think that a smaller chandelier would look lovely here.

I am looking to replace the gold ceiling light...

Add a table next yo chair add a modern lamp ther. Can't see other part of room but lamps by sofa. Using table and a floor lamp again Ikea. Go stainless.

I'm not sure what your budget is, but sconces would fit right in with the upscale look you're going for. It would add another layer of light, as Lights Online mentioned. In addition, a few accent lamps would be great too.

Satin or polished nickel are interesting choices for finishes as well. Polished nickel is very glossy and looks like chrome while satin has been brushed so that it will not show fingerprints.

Here are some nickel ceiling light choices. These are just a few of many, many fixtures.
