It depends on whether you think it needs more. Personally, I would add a medium sized portrait orientation picture on either side to take up the empty space.

I wouldn't worry about finding matching pictures, but might go for similar things so you don't have a race car on one side, and a ballerina on the other. But above all, find pictures of pieces of art that you will enjoy looking at day after day, and that reflect your personality. When you get to the point, you will be happy with how your wall looks, and will know that it's just right.

I think your room looks lovely. I'd love to see photos of the entire room...

If you would like to tweak a few details I would suggest changing the colour of that middle white chair rail which hits the wall just above the back of the sofa and is distracting to the eye. If you were to either make it the same colour as the wall or a slight tone different than the wall - a lighter or darker tone rather than white, and then lower your paintings six or so inches so that they belong to the sofa focal point, it will be just that subtle improvement to the space.
Also I would put a taller and larger table in the corner between the seating with a slightly bigger lamp - a dark base to pick up some warmth of the paintings and be grounding. Then you can move the smaller table to the other end of the sofa layer some books on it can't really see how big it is) and add a pharmacy lamp over the corner of the sofa for better light.

These are just ideas - you did a good job -especially with your colours.

I would simple black and white prints....a group of say 4 small prints in black frame, to the right of the paintings, and lower than the paintings, to add some punch. Would also complement the black table.

Your art is fine as is. If you want it to take up more space, just spread them out a little but, not too much. I agree something colorful on the coffee table would help. But, most of all, I think you need to add a rug with some pattern and the golden color from your room.

This room is very pretty. I agree that the rug could use a bit of color and a nice live plant in the corner next to the french doors would fill in nicely.

I notice there is a plant in the opposite corner, so maybe a floor lamp instead...

I think the room is lovely. You might think about replacing the rug with a rug that has gold accents in it. It would tie everything together!!

If you are not set on the carpet you might want to spruce things up with a cowhide rug. This is a hot trend. So many different types to choose from.

I wouldn't mind some sconces on either side of the artwork, and maybe a larger scale coffee table, and a patterned area rug.

Since you already have visual "weight" on the left with the sofas, I'd switch the darker table to the right with the smaller one on the left. This will weight the right side better. If you decide to tweak with tables, here is a chart to help you get the scale right. I'd lower the art just a tad so it anchors to the chair rail and sofa. Try 5" above the rail. Forgot the chart - I'll add it now.

I like your improvements and agree with others--- remove the chair rail or paint it. The coffee table needs to be more substantial/ interesting. Perhaps an older "brass" the darker gold to pull colors together. It will look more polished to use a piece that's not new. Darker gold is the next trend, but a lot of people may be getting rid of it so you could check consignment shops, etc.

Should I do glass or wood coffee table? I was trying to do this room inexpensively but not look cheap.

I'd do glass since that will keep it lighter. You are doing a great job and I think you should be able to find something reasonably priced if it's second hand. Keep your pics with you and measure the maximum size --then good luck shopping!

This view of the room presents a few more details you can change. The room will look better if you take the tree out of the corner and the plant off the table. Now the table and lamp are not lost and they become important to the picture you are creating. I still think you need a heavier square table in that corner with a lamp that has a chunkier dark base with a shade that casts better light. Functionally the table then becomes a place for a drink, stack of magazines , laptop...when you are using those sofas.

Now you may want to pull some warmth into the corner with panel drapes in a tone close to the wall colour so that you have interest without distraction and these could hang from a dark rod mounted high on an 8' wall. Now you have some dimension, and layering of colours and materials and that will create warmth.

I agree the coffee table would be better if it was bigger taking up more space (because the upholstery is big), but if you are working with what you have you have added some weight to it with items which helps.

Now start living in your beautiful room and be happy with yourself. Well done.

I would paint below the chair rail a goldish, or a darker neutral. Possibly replace your faux greenery with a live plant... There are lots of large plants where your thumb does not have to be green... (:

I see these all the time at consignment shops- you should be able to find something reasonable. Remember, it's interesting to vary your pieces, like you had a family piece or something older so it doesn't all look like it's off the showroom floor.
