What can I do to up date my real oak cabinets that are 23 years old and have turned orange. I have seen some painted but the grain still showed through. They looked just like they had been painted and the grain bled through. Does anyone have information or advice concerning restraining them. If so what color stain. There are lots of cabinets with a large island of oak and oak floors that have turned this color as well. There are granite counter tops and tile backsplash . We have black appliances. 10 foot ceilings. The countertops have grays, brown gold, cream, swirls in them. We are going to refinish all the hardwood floors regardless of cabinets. There is a small sitting area at one end of this kitchen with a see thru fireplace and ceiling to floors windows all around .
