How did you do do the pocket gate?

I love the idea of the pocket gate for our dogs - how did you do it? I can't figure out what type of hardware would be strong enough when the gate is extended 3'. Thanks for your help!

We had our cabinet maker cut a door and add spindles to the bottom half. Then we framed a 2X6 wall for the door the recess into. The pocket door lock is by emtek.

Yes! We framed the opening down to the size of the door and put wheels on the bottom.

I'm looking to make something like this for our new house what type of hardware and door could I use to make this possible and is it fairly easy diy project or can you buy the door somewhere?
