Thanks for asking about this great kitchen. Our clients love having the cooktop in the island because it allows the cook to be part of the action. We specified a powerful range hood to remove cooking odors. Separating the cooktop from the ovens (hidden in this photo, double ovens are stacked on the right wall) eases traffic congestion during meal preparation.

Do you mind me asking how much your hood was?

The hood was pricey because of all the cabinet trim pieces that were used. A stainless steel hood would have been less expensive, unless you chose a custom-made one.
