What is a reasonable budget for a master bath reno? The main thing I'm wanting to do is take out a huge, old whirlpool tub and replace it with a large walk-in shower that is doorless. Also thinking of putting a free-standing tub over where the old, small shower was. The room is very large so space is not an issue. No changes to the floor is required - just all the tiling that will be involved in creating the shower. Any thoughts?

A lot depends on your counters and cabinetry. I just completed a bathroom Reno with a shower / tub combo with marble accent tiles on the floor, shower surround and a wall between cabinet towers. The cabinets were not custom but high end-ish, the counters were carrera marble. With labor, it ran about $28,000.

It depends on your location and the level of finish, as well as any structural or systems changes. You say you want to make systems changes, which may also involve structural changes.
