I just love an easy question! People often think that all furniture must face the focal point. But when you have multiple focal points, face each other -- not the focal point. Here's how: Create a good conversational grouping so that the focal points are to either side of your grouping. Using swivel chairs for some of your seating pieces will allow you to turn to face either focal point. Everyone will have a view of something -- they just won't all be facing the fireplace or all facing the tv or all facing the view.

If your living room is truly huge, you may create two seating areas with their "backs" to each other. One faces the fireplace and one faces the tv. Here's a photo of one room that has two seating areas facing opposite directions.
