I have experience working with architects and designers for almost 25 years now, and I must say that Pangaea is absolutely unique, both as a designer and a personality. First of all, she is a professional; she knows her job, she has answers to all kinds of questions you throw at her, and she has deep knowledge of every single aspect of both interior design and construction. Creating a custom kitchen is something I've dealt with in the past, and that was one of the biggest pains in the neck I can recall. Second, and I think this is more of a personality thing, she is insanely attentive to detail. I am kind of a perfectionist myself, so I absolutely enjoyed working with Pangaea. Everything is pre-planned, every little detail is thought of, it's pure pleasure. Third and final, I absolutely loved the way she does business. Everything is on time, properly scheduled and delivered; she never tries to rip you off and sell something useless or overcharge you; quite the contrary, I would say Very happy with the service, going to ask her to design a couple of rooms for me next year. I loved working with Pangaea; she had great design recommendations, she listened to my needs and suggestions, was always on time to meetings, and had great follow-through. My bathroom remodel would not have been done if not for her help finding a contractor that was within my budget. I’m even happier with the remodel a year after completion as I’ve discovered how practical (as well as beautiful) her design has been.

Pangaea really knows her stuff. She has a great eye and has educated herself to amazing extent on the many things that are available to you. The contractors that she uses are great. I spent more money than I ever thought I would on some dressers, night stands, and built-ins, but, wow, were they worth it. I love them everyday. The AV guys, the general contractor, the window coverings/art installer - you hire Pangaea you get her vision to turn your house into a home and you get this terrific team. I'm keeping all their phone numbers! Very kind, attentive people, who are complete professionals. Pangaea can work with your budget, too. I called several design teams in Portland and told them what I would like to spend, and was told "well, that's not going to be possible." Bull. I did go over budget, but that's because I wanted to, not because it wasn't possible to do it with the amount allotted. Two things I would say that you should expect from the experience if you've never hired a decorator before. a) It will take a long time. It just will. It took 11 months to finish my home. It begins to wear on you, just be prepared. b) You will hemorrhage money. Expect it. Just be prepared to deal with it and if it gets too much, feel free to say 'no'. There were things which were proposed for the master bedroom that I just did think would equate to an equivalent amount of utility and Pangaea said, "okay". In the end, it was a long journey, I'm glad its over, but my family and I really enjoy what we have and it finally feels like 'our' home. Good Luck.

Pangaea is an extremely talented design professional. She helped us create an incredible kitchen in a challenging space, as well as provided us vision and design for other parts of our new house. Pangaea has outstanding taste and creativity, but is also very talented technically in creating designs that can be built accurately by others. We are very pleased with the work she did for us!

Pangaea listened to what we needed and wanted in our new kitchen. It is spectacular and super efficient. An absolute joy to cook in! Her professional knowledge and communication provided us with choices we would not have found/considered on our own - especially our backsplash- she found exactly what I had in mind within the budget. The process would have been overwhelming and frankly impossible without her! We would happily use her in the future..

Pangaea completely transformed the central entry foyer, stairway & living room area of my home. I LOVE the result – it’s gorgeous, and exactly the look I was hoping for – rich and dramatic without being “over the top”, and modern yet warm and interesting. Pangaea is very very skilled, and equally determined. She worked tirelessly to solve design challenges and ensure that all elements of the space would work together. Pangaea also brought to bear a cadre of suppliers, including a painter, drapery installer, and custom-fabricators of drapery, a sofa, armchairs, chandeliers, a coffee table and console table. The custom work was of the highest quality, and the suppliers I met were exceedingly friendly and meticulous. And Pangaea is very professional – she carefully set expectations and explained her process up front, and followed through without exception. Working with Pangaea was expensive – I ended up spending quite a bit more than I had planned. But the outcome truly exceeded my expectations.

This is the first time we have worked with a designer. Pangaea listened to us about our desires for a contemporary Asian feel, a dining table that gets out of the way, and age-in-place features. All of those desires were met in a way that has created a great room we love that includes kitchen, dining, and living space. In addition her design included a change to our fireplace which has made it a design focal point in our space. Pangaea made herself available as needed and was timely in her delivery of designs and changes. Overall we are completely satisfied with her design work and would highly recommend her services.

I had never worked with a design professional before, but I know I could not have had a better experience. Pangaea was the utmost professional, yet easy to work with, and made a major redo of our living and dining room fun. She had amazing ideas, and presented a wide variety of options that took into account our tastes and budget. Pangaea quickly solved any issues or concerns that arose along the way. We love our new space and hope to work with Pangaea again soon to transform more of our home.

From initial design to final details, I found Pangaea to be creative, professional and just fun to work with. She took the time to really understand my tastes and was able to develop a coherent and beautiful design that I'll enjoy living in for years to come. All of them were professional, did outstanding work and were just top notch people all around. I was more than happy to let Pangaea handle all of the project management details, which she did professionally and with attention to detail: ordering items, following up to ensure timely delivery, scheduling contractors, keeping me up-to date on progress, budget etc. Not only did Pangaea make the process fun and interesting, I'm really pleased with the results which were more than I could have hoped for.

Pangaea worked with me for many months in order to make my dream of the perfect hair salon a reality. I wouldn't have known where to begin to find the local artisans, contractors and distributors with whom she already had long-standing relationships. She is a very detail oriented, punctual and courteous professional who gently drives you toward your goal while maintaining realistic expectations in regards to timeline and budget. She has a seemingly endless catalog of products, patterns and colors in her mind that she draws from in an instant and will take your ideas and turn them into the perfect version that you may or may not know existed. Being an aesthetic creator myself, I truly appreciate this ability in others.

Being new to any sort of serious remodeling effort, we were immediately at ease with Pangaea’s confident style and professional approach to our project. She patiently guided us through each step of her design process and never made us feel there wasn’t time to pause for further deliberation or to ask more questions. Pangaea is very well connected with all types of trade specialists, craftspeople, and suppliers, and always knew where to go for the right solution to any design challenge.
