We have a sweet little 100 year old dutch colonial home with beautiful character but it is very small and I need help getting it organized and decorated. I can't seem to get it feeling "homey", and two little ones add to a constant, day-to-day mess. I feel like once we had it decorated and set up nicely it would be much easier to keep it that way. I would love to have a professional come in and advise on the best way to organize each room, furniture layout, colors, etc. We have a limited budget and I'm an avid DIYer so I don't want someone who will be looking for us to buy furniture/accessories through them - we need IKEA or build our own and I make my own accessories. I just need the ideas! The interior designers I've talked to want the whole package so that hasn't worked out for us. Any suggestions on where to turn? Thanks so much in advance!
