I have a small bathroom space that is somewhat longer than it is wide. I have just purchased a 6x12 rectangle carrara marble tile for both the floor and tub/shower surround. I am trying to decide if the rectangle tile should be laid "horizontally" as it will be around the tub/shower, or "vertically" so that more tile will fit across but less will fit top to bottom wise. What does everyone think will make the floor and overall space more spacious?
