I would consider a good old fashioned fabric "blackout" roman shade. The hunter Douglas roman shade is very noisey. Sounds like crinkling paper when raised or lowered. They are normal inexpensive vinyl shades with a fake fabric looking covering glued on to look like the folds of a roman shades. Plastic-like texture. Require 1-2 hands to control them being raised up and down. HD did not disclose the fact that their light touch is "different" on their roman blinds. In fact it's spring loaded- the exact same mechanism as any inexpensive shade. Cost me $8K and I hate them. My fault for trusting my designer to order them after she said samples were not available but she knew I would love them and to trust her. Well I don't love them and won't be working with that designer again!!
