Like the horse print too....please add 3 LARGE items over TV....two on left side of shelf....a space....and the third object on the right.
They don't need to match each other just "play well together".
I would opt for something with texture but neutral tone.
Keep the focus in the wall space over the fireplace. What ever you put here should be the star.

you need a large print above the fireplace, and some taller object on the shelf above TV. Books, colorful pottery, candle sticks and some greenery would look beautiful. Also, remove the fireplace utensils and replace with something that has a little weight to balance with the TV such as an oversize vase with greenery, flowers or leave empty.

LOL Bluenan, I'll sell you mine. Hubby and I bid it up at an auction each thinking the other wanted it, and neither of us really did. It's a "like it but don't love it" that has followed us for twenty years now, and has never had a perfect spot like dgilseth has. That's the perfect spot!

Gee thanks Barnhart, but my hubby already has an original bronze sculpture of two elk coming down a mountain that I bought him in Jackson Hole. It's in his library and one of his treasures. I bet one of your boys will want it some day. Yes, dgilseth does have the perfect spot for hers.

The top shelf could us a pot with some greenery for mass and color, and the right side of the hearth could also. Make it an exceptional piece to work with the Remington.

I really meant a pottery piece for the hearth like an urn or a handled piece with some colors to complement and accent the Remington . And of course a quality single or pair of paintings or prints for over the fireplace.
