Yes that vinyl had to go! We also stained the honey oak trim to Kona and there are led undercabinet lights.

Thanks. I would love to put an island in someday but we priced it out and would have brought us over budget. Thanks everyone! The granite is in. It was a fight between dark or light, we went with light to add more contrast. Dark granite would have looked better but too late now..haha.

Marissam79- It is actually my brother's house. I will ask him for the dimensions.

I think dark granite w/dark cabs would have been way too much heavy color...
Maybe the granite would have been better with more movement and wider areas of light stone--or with a second color--
like Typhoon Bordeaux--added to the mix...
There is lot of black in that pattern...

It would have for sure, but this was all that was available in a Category A. I love Typhoon Bordeaux but it is pricey and we wanted to keep cost down. Here is a close up, it has actually grown on me.

Darla, you did a fabulous job very close to your budget. Granite with more movement and color would have jacked up your price. You picked a good compromise.
