High gloss finishes accented sparingly are very beautiful and effective. The benefits well outweigh a fingerprint or two. Best secret for keeping high gloss finishes (wood, paint, chrome, etc) in perfect shined condition: Wizards Mist-N-Shine Professional Detailer. We recommend it for all our clients. Use it with a microfiber cloth.

What is great about high gloss cabinets is that they are easy to wipe down! you can make it fun and have colored cabinets. If you are still worried about fingerprints and messes, think about distorted glass cabinets for a low maintenance modern look

Glossy white cabinets will be great for your kitchen. Easier to keep clean than your existing kitchen as the smooth shiny finish will not hold grime like the textured paint on your current cabinets. A regular wipe down with a damp cloth will be all thats required. The white colour will not show up fingerprints.
More important than the colour of the doors is the finish and colour of the worktops, since these horizontal surfaces will take the full brunt of the kitchen workload. Choose a lightly textured surface that will difuse the light from the window. Don't choose a highly reflective gloss finish that will show up every mark and crumb!
I personally prefer a dark charcoal or grey patterned colour/finish for a worktop, so that my clients do not feel the need to wipe, clean and polish the surface every five minues. I hope this helps.

What approach are you considering to achieve the high gloss look? We too are mixing wood with some high gloss white cabinets for a modern look. Kids. High traffics eat-in kitchen. Our contractor is warning us away from high gloss paint due to low durability. Easily seen scratches. We are now re-considering high gloss flat panel thermofoil. Thoughts on a quality thermofoil to achieve the look? What about lacquer?

We are installing high gloss white kitchen cabinets and have run into a challenge. The manufacturer only makes end panels that are as wide as the base cabinets. We have a partition wall behind the cabinets, requiring a 25-5/8 wide panel. Where can we source a custom end panel?

I would like some opinions about if the reflections on high gloss cabinetry is a problem.

We are considering an Ikea white and yellow high gloss kitchen but not sure if we will be disturbed by seeing our reflection and the reflection of everything else. The yellow cabinets are almost like a mirror while the white is somewhat less but not totally.

I have white high gloss cabinets in my kitchen and, to the question above, we used thermofoil to achieve this look. They do get fingerprints (I have a wall of windows facing the cabinets) but I don't really find it an issue since they are so easy to wipe down. I have little kids and we are pretty tough on our house and I have not had any issues. My only caution is that if you use thermofoil read the warranty as it probably requires using heat shields around appliances. I did not know this until it was too late and although I have not had any issues I don't plan on ever using the self cleaning function of my oven to avoid any potential problems.

Is the fact that high gloss cabinets reflect everything - almost like a mirror - a problem ?
I would love to hear from someone who has high gloss white and or darker color cabinets.

I managed to get some black hair dye on my high gloss white kitchen cabinet and only noticed ½ hour later. There's a bit of a stain. Any ideas about how to get rid of it? Thanks!
