I love cloud white it's clean and neutral good choice

Benjamin Moore's White Dove is infamous for contemporary warm modern homes. We use Dunn Edward's Frosting Cream for our retail white environments.

Since infamous means "famous in a bad way or for a bad reason," are you saying that White Dove is a bad white to use for contemporary settings? Some comments on Houzz say that White Dove is a grey white while other accuse it of being too yellow. Can you help clarify what it actually is and why it is bad to use in contemporary settings? Thanks much.

In (mainland) Europe we have industrial coded paint colors. RAL. The most used offwhite is RAL9010. It's a pale cream. It can be mixed in just about any brand and most brands already have premixed cans and buckets.

And that is a dared jump, buying a house you haven't seen/felt!

My fave white is chantilly lace OC-65 by benjamin moore.
It's white plus a drop or two of black.
I love it. It is a super bright gallery style white.

My suggestion would be to figure out what kind of white do you like? More of a gallery stalking white, or a warm yellowish white, or a grayish white? Try them out on piece of drywall and put it behind your main furniture to see how it looks. That will give you an idea.

Once you figure out the one you like, DO NOT color match it in another brand. Because from one brand to another there is a big variation. For other colors you can color match no problem, but not with white. Been there, done that!

Now my dilemma is do we paint the doors in Soot 2129-20 (which is a deep dark indigo blue) from benjamin moore. Or do I stick with all white?

Hello ritaemilia, I wouldn't label Dove White as negatively infamous. It's a great white. I do suggest you try a sample on a 24"x24" piece of drywall and leave it in your home for a week. Home Depot sells the 24"x24" drywall pre-cut to make the task easier. Best to you.
