@steventon: the flagstone comes out of Oklahoma (it's called Cherokee Creek or Sweetwater here in Santa Barbara - but I've heard other names elsewhere). The flags are dry-laid and the joints are 3/8" Del Rio gravel (comes out of the Santa Clara, CA area - it's a rounded granitic gravel).
