Are the stripes TOO crooked?

My bf and I recently created an accent wall in the living room (this was actually my idea AND hard work :-)).

He says the stripes are too crooked and should be touched up. Everyone will notice.

I disagree.

I think they are fine. Once we move in our furniture it will not be as obvious.
Yes, touch up the stripes. It's obviously crooked.
No, it's fine--no one will stand in your living room only to stare at a striped wall.

It may be an optical illusion from the photo, but it doesn't appear that the blue stripes are all the same thickness? And they're not the same distance apart? And they don't all reach the right hand corner wall uniformly? But it might be just the picture. Love the pose however! If it bugs him, he will bug you. I'd have him help touch it up to his satisfaction, so he won't annoy you about it.

They look fine! Probably will never be perfect anyway...accessorize with color and no one will look for imperfections anyway (except maybe you :-))

Tape properly and straighten out those edges. And make sure they go wall to wall--don't stop short.

    Hang curtains...

I wouldn't worry too much. They look fine.

It's not a terrible job but as pointed out you should paint make sure your stripes go right to the corner. If it bothers you that they might be a bit off , just place the tape back up and go over them again until they look straight to you. Good luck.

I suppose the dressing room attendant told you those stripes don't make the wall look fat.

If the wall escapes everyone will know it got out of jail.

I don't mind crooked lines, but I would mind the thin white lines in the corner.

If anyone notices, tell them it's an optical illusion and give them another drink.

I like the idea of draperies mentioned by jltait and I agree with ginabonina that even if you re-touch they will never be perfect anyway. But for sure, I would re-touch it a bit in the corners to make sure all the lines touch the other wall. I agree with rinqreation, those white thin lines would bother me too.

I would put furniture back in room. Live with it for a couple of weeks and then decide. Hard to tell from photo.

I would fix the stripes at the end of your wall so it does not show the white or light gray paint between your other wall. Also, unless someone stands there and stares at your wall for ten minutes, I don't think anyone could tell the stripes are a little crooked and maybe a little uneven in thickness.

rough up the lines with your paint brush free hand & it will look like it is meant to be...
