Are the cabinets made of wood?

We are remodeling and love white kitchens but I've been reading about hairline cracks on painted wood and my cabinet designer insist on using MDF instead, because I won't have any problems with cracks. I saw one MDF door and it the edges and not as sharp. They are more rounded, like a thermofoil door.
Any suggestions?
Thank you.

We are going through the exact same thing right now. We were advised against wood for our painted cabinets for the same reason you explained. I also did not like the more rounded edge of the mdf. We have decided to go with a shaker style mdf door with a strip (small/thin) of mdf outlining the recessed area of the shaker door. The result of this is a crisp corner and not a rounded one. Hope this makes sense, so sorry, not up on the technical terms : )

Thanks you! I really appreciate your comment. I didn't understood though the construction of the door..Is it made all from MDF? Did the painted all the parts of the door separately?
Because the one I saw it was 5 pieces together, but it was painted after the put them together, so it didn't have "the shadow"/outline on the center panel, it look just like a thermofoil 1 piece door.
I know it's hard to explain technical terms, but I'd really appreciate if you could tried to explain me again how your door was constructed, or attached some drawing to show where the Mdf strip is...
    Thank you!!!!

I've sent a message to our builder, the cabinets are currently being made and unfortunately I do not have a good picture. I'm quite sure it is all mdf however I will let you know when I hear from him.

if mdf at all, it's normally mdf on the sides and wood fronts. I'm getting rid of all my mdf because it swells in any type of moisture. 3 of our base cabinets are falling apart because the sides and kickplates were mdf. 1/2 to 3/4" plywood sides are better IMO :)

Hi there...the cabinets are made of maple and are solid wood. I hope this helps!
