Janellos I don't have much to offer, but I love your long bank of windows! The shutters won't work with new peninsula? It looks like you could change out the fabric…romans would be so nice, not sure what you could do for privacy? Good luck with all of your projects!

Since the windows are so high off the floor they are too casual for any fancy elegant formal treatment. I would two layers of sheer (sheer lined in sheer) on rods set inside the window. That will look very light and tailored, give you all the privacy you need and look great. Now decorate your table area to get all the attention. Hope this helps, Bill Gantt

Janellos, a couple of thoughts. Are those 7 or 8 ft. ceilings? If you want to elongate the window area, you could mount an iron rod (French style) that comes out approx. 3" from the wall and could go the entire expanse of the windows. Use approx. 50" of fabric on each side. I would need to know the exact measurements of the window wall width to determine how much fabric you would need to cover if you want to pull it closed. It looks like it's about 6 ft. as you have a table that size in front of it? A toile fabric in blue and white or yellow and white or red and white? Or, you could do exactly what Gantt is recommending in either sheers or cafe curtains in a fun fabric. If you wanted it to look more contemporary, consider a tortoise style shade mounted inside the framing. That will pick up on the honey colored cabinets. Shop Ballard designs for counter stool styles to consider. I would also consider a cornice like the picture you found. You have a blank palette that could go any way. Find a fabric you love and go from there.
