We have engineered wood in our foyer and dining room, pergo currently in the kitchen, and real hardwood (not sure what kind) but it's a lighter wood in our hallway which leads to our family room. This was all done by the previous owners. We are renovating our kitchen, definitely getting rid of the pergo, and I'm very torn as to what flooring to choose. We could do something like limestone tile and leave the engineered wood alone in the entry and Dining Room OR we were thinking of making the entry foyer, dining room and kitchen all brazillian cherry wood (the 3 rooms all connect). The lighter wood in the hallway we would leave alone since it wood be too expensive to make that brazillian cherry as well. I love the look and warmth of wood in the kitchen BUT I would not want to do 3 different kinds of woods on one floor therefore if we did the kitchen wood we would also want new wood in the entry and dining room. Am I foolish to redo the engineered wood when it doesn't look that bad?? Should I just stick with tile in the kitchen??
