Normally it works better to have the tv base be longer/bigger than the tv. This one fits the tv and no extra room beneath it. One way to fill in spaces is to add a nice big palm plant.....green plants add a lot to a room and you have the windows for it, too.

Also, when you get some art on the wall in the dining area, that whole side of the room will be filled in more, too. Right now your eye is just focusing on the blankness and the lonely tv.

TJ Maxx is usually very good about returns. I would return it and get something larger. It does not look large enough for your tv. Maybe find something mirrored.

Abbeyjean I hate to admit it but I'm not a big fan of Palm tree or plants in the house but I did think about a chair of some sort on the right side of the Tv.

I like it, the pattern on the front on the doors relates to your pillow. It's taller that the height on your tv, so that proportion looks good. You could even mount the TV on the wall and go a little higher since your ceiling height is high. Abbey jean is right you just need to fill in the rest of the wall.

Love the idea of adding a chair instead of a plant! Two different items, huh? I might think about adding it on the left side, though, to make a bit of a division between the two rooms.

The mirrored tv console is from hay and needle.

Any ideas on what to put to the ride side other than a plant. I think a chair to the left sounds good. Not sure what type though would look good.

Would you want to show more of the couch so we could think about a style of chair? I know a chair was just sort of a random thought, maybe, but a nice little reading corner could be awesome there......little table with a lamp, even a floor lamp. Throw tucked over the side of the chair. OR even a slipper chair with a pattern could work there for conversation. Again....a table for a glass/drink.
