go with soft white even if you change the color of the walls this is going to work, I would do the same color for all the windows so they look the same from outside. Bbterp

Yes I agree. Use a soft light neutral color that can stand the test of time even if you change the rest of the colors in the room :)

Also i can't see what is going on in this room but woven woods have amazing textures colors and weaves and are very natural looking. they also work very well with many colors and styles. Janette

How white is your trim and how soft ivory is the wall? The shadings usually have many whites to choose from. I rarely use a stark white, but a if there is a soft white in the tone of the wall, that would be the best. I probably would not match the wall. Most likely something in between.

White is not stark. It's brilliant and warm and bright and beautiful!

My blinds are from Smith & Noble, top down, bottom up. I used a sheer stria in "marshmellow white" which is a soft white. Smith & Noble allows for another color to be used, I selected a soft taupe to match my walls/furniture. This allows the shades to be all sheer or more opaque if I raise the taupe portion, or a combination of both. I have these shades in my great room and dining room where I have southwest and due west sun exposure. In addition to needing some privacy (we live in a community where the houses are faily close together) we also needed to block the sun. I absolutely love these shades, probably one of the best decisions I made. We don't have to raise and lower them on daily basis. They give us plenty of light, privacy and look great with the stationary panels. Are you going to use one shade or two?

Here in New Zealand where the sun is very strong using white sheers is fine because it will not remain white white for too long as the sun dulls it over time. It would depend how much sun your front room gets.

White always a safe choice.
