Upper Cabinet depth?

Hi there. Great kitchen! We are remodeling and installing this type of lift on our microwave door and we are using the same GE Space Saver Microwave, and also inset cabinet doors. Did you have to make your upper cabinets deeper in this area to house the microwave, or are they a standard 14" depth? Thank you so much for your help!
