I think the table would look pretty as a deep royal or cerulean blue. Any maybe you can do something fun with the pot the plant is in? I vote for an area rug that's got more than 2 colors - these two are from world market.

Funny you say that Jackie, I have just repainted it white, from a deep teal blue. The plant pots are paint-able, what if i did a yellow and white dip? Love the blue rug, that looks like it would work.
Totally agree about the zebra painting abbeyjean, I knew it wasn't working, just couldn't work out why, The smaller white one is supposed to become the centre piece of a photo frame collage I am doing, would appreciate your thoughts on placement of that (proposed size attached) I think i should def use the yellow as an accent colour.

Consider adding aqua or teal area rug and art work - since blue makes me think of water ( think beach, surf, swim, boating, fishing)

Much LARGER dark green plants in both areas. Eg palm, large philedandrom, large dracena, schefflera, fiscus, hibiscus (think rain forest)

How funny about the table! Yellow and white plant pot sounds awesome! I don't mind the zebra where it is at all - I like it. Would you want to hang your guitar on display? Also are you planning on keeping the paint color on the walls? (not that I think you need to - just curious). The photos you linked seems more Miami-tropical vs. Caribbean-tropical if that makes any sense? (Now I'm seeing walls a Miami-pink color :) lol). I think a big mirror in something like red would look good on the long wall by the dining table. Also, world market has really pretty platters and plates in colors and patterns you might like that you could hang one or two of.

Actually, with your other patterned rug and the wood tones of the table and tv console - I think a jute or natural-fiber rug would look great here.

The wall colour, is new and actually has the tiniest hint of pink Dulux Pearl Ash Quarter, looks beautiful during the day. I'm in Australia, so trying to channel Queensland- Tropical. LOL! Getting a stand for the guitar, as I play it reasonably often. I agree with abbeyjean, the stand below the picture is too small, needs to be a little wider, but prints are easy to find i think i could get something that could fit nicely here. I can put the zebra print in my kitchen, desperately needs some colour and fun in it. Yeah thanks for the link to World Market, some great stuff on there!! thanks playaazul, Bang on with the Large plants, the ones we have are new, so we are hoping they will shoot up quickly and spread out, we have a short period of our wet-season left, so hopefully they will show some volume within a few months. Can you tell me what kind of plant the attached is?
