Hi, we moved into our home last year and I knew we were going to update it because of all the outdated, roughed up oak and wall paper. We just got new appliances/granite and hardwood in the great room. I first thought about using chalk paint for the kitchen cabinets and painting the trim white everywhere including the doors. I do have small kids and my biggest fear is the kids scuffing up the trim. I now think I want to gel stain the kitchen cabinets a walnut color. I just tested a piece the other day and have one more coat to do and it looks nice. I thought gel stain would hold up better compared to paint or chalk paint. I also thought about staining the trim/doors or either painting them off white. Not sure..any suggestions?
