I think the room needs curtains

the panel above the fire place is almost distracting, hopefully hanging curtains, maybe at the same height as the top of the mantel panel....

Is that crown above the fireplace panel? I can't tell from pic but I'm on a phone. I agree on the drapes. Hang them from the ceiling to make the window proportional. I like the fact you didn't stick the tv there but is there a way to out it on the window wall?

The fireplace has really cool architecture to it, but it isn't repeated anyplace. If you pulled white wood paneling to the side of the staircase that might tie that element in. If you have an entry across from it into the next room - wood trim with a backband as well. Bigger base moulding as well. The ceiling line is really stark above the fireplace, Need to distract teh eye from it somehow. Maybe use the "picture frame moulding" thing to the right and left. You could put art in the centers or just use it as art. Now depending on the style of the rest of the house and your style, this might all lead you down a never ending moulding path that you don't want to travel on. If you prefer simpler more clean lined, a big mirror in front of that really pretty fireplace top would diminish the contrast.

Sorry to tell you this, but I think it's the paint color. It's close to the same tone as the sofas so you have no contrast. It's all very muddy. Drapes will help, but the color is the biggest issue for me.
