Hi jonbeth, what a project !!! I have modified everything except for the brick and roof to make the exterior more in line with the era. Not sure if this is possible for your complex association, but here is the ultimate makeover imho.

I think the architect was stoned or drunk when he designed this place - well it was the 60's! The windows really stick out being so white - if you can paint them then that would make a big change. And I don't understand the big boards across the front and over the entrance. What is it made of ? Is the fence staying ?What color is the roof shingles and the triangle of siding at the top - is that green? I would replace the fence with the metal frames with the frosted tempered glass across the front on both sides starting at the top step.I would paint everything out the color of the shingles --- siding - windows - and trim boards. Or I would cover all the white areas and the triangle siding area all with horizontal cedar boards .The front door could be a modern stainless steel look or a modern style door with the frosted glass insert painted an eye popping gloosy color ( red or dark orange ) For landscaping just do multibles of ornamental grasses and ground covers like creeping philox or what is good for your area . If thats a patio door on the right then you should have a nice stone patio there. Don't forget some good outside lighting . Hope that helps !
