Dear Curt, thank you so much for taking the trouble to write, but I did try as you say and only coms up: embed photo or open photo in new window; either way right click will not work and if I do try to embed or after opening in a new window then right click, a list of numbers comes up! so simply the website will not let me save them! It was possible once, some time ago, but no more. I am in UK, maybe this has something to do with it?

Howdy don't meantointrude but I too was wanting to do the same thing,cherio my pal from afar I too am on old dino top,but I am able to pull up option to save image,BUT I now am unable to locate the 40 or so pics I thought I was saving images of.anyone please help an out dated mom,clueless where they are,I've tried photos,downloads,video,and even documents.help?

@robin, I went straight to your page by clicking on your name and all your photos are saved there.

The houzz website is designed so you can only save photos in the platform to protect the copyright of those of us that upload images.

hey i know this is an old tread but i had the same problem, what i did was googled the designer and the name of the photo and the image came up on image search and could save it that way

I can tell you the way of saving the photos for education purposes, the photos are copyright to Houzz.com and can't be used for business related purposes without the website permission.

in order to save the photos to ur desktop follow these steps on Google Chrome:

1. right click on the Houzz logo and choose "inspect" and you will get a new split or embedded window showing the html code.

2. search for "lbimageviewlayer" under this line you will find the url to the image.

3. copy the url "http://......"; and paste it on a new chrome tab.

This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. It's very easy to print a "contact" sheet of photos grouped on a single page, but not single photos? Printing poor resolution tiny photos is somehow protecting integrity or copyright?

There are workarounds for printing photos full page, so in reality there is no copyright protection. There is just an irrelevant policy that handicaps users.

Most professionals submit photos as a means of generating business. The more those photos are copied and distributed, the better for the professional. This is usually called "advertising". This policy is contradictory to that.

All blocking save as does, is hurt consumers and users, people that want to use them for ulterior motives such as breaking copyright will screenshot the painful way.

For goodness sake, snipping tool then paste in publisher or word.

Use microsoft snipping tool or any other screenshot tools, Houzz wasting the resources for nothing..

I have been able to save photos to my laptop by first saving them to an ideabook in Houzz. I can save them by right clicking the image when viewing it in my ideabook.

EASY. Click OPEN PHOTO IN NEW WINDOW, or just click on the photo. When it opens in new window, click 3 small buttons ( . . . ) at bottom right of picture. You will see, SKETCH and HIDE TAGS: Click on SKETCH. Image will open in yet another window, and right click on it, then click SAVE IMAGE AS. It will appear on your desktop (or in your pictures if you direct it there) as a PNG image, which is basically the same as an image from your PAINT tool. It will be a good, full size image. This did not work for me. I'm on my macbook on the HOUZZ website. I uploaded thousandds of images into different ideabooks and deleted them off of my computer. I would like to download a lot of them back to my desktop. Is there any way to do this? They are my pictures I've saved for years and now I have no way to do anything with them other than view them in HOUZZ. VERY irritating!!

Easy Peasy. Open image. Right click on word HOUZZ to right of pic. Right click on PAGE SOURCE. Scroll down page and find CONTENT URL (it is down page, right when print starts getting blue font, and it is called: CONTENT URL). Float cursor over the 'h' in https:, left click, then highlight entire https: address, but NOT quotation marks. Make sure cursor is hovering over blue highlighted address, and right click. Then click: GO TO HTTPS:. That will open the image alone, and then you can right click over it and save it to photos, desktop, etc. All for personal, home use, of course. Thanks.
