The lower balcony is 100% covered by the upper balcony which has a solid roof assembly complete with pot lighting. The upper balcony is uncovered except for the deeper eave outside the doors. The deep eave is supported by the solid wood brackets shown and has the four pot lights.

Are the stairs natural granite? How big are the stringers? they look great!

Yes, they are hones granite with a split face edge on all sides. These can be purchased pre fabricated from most custom stone suppliers and are surprisingly affordable. The stringers can be made of anything really. If they are going to be wood we recommend solid material such as 6x6 fir with a sealer on the cut edges. We feel that a central stringer is important especially for stairs 5' or wider both for safety and rigidity. The slabs are glued to the stringers with heavy duty construction adhesive.
