Our family room rug was an innocent victim of a recent outbreak of stomach flu in our household. Kids: 2, Rug:0. I decided it's not worth trying to get it cleaned. So now I'm in the market for a new rug. The previous rug was a beige background with some green and reddish hues in an abstract leafy pattern. I'm thinking of going more neutral this time, but I'm just not sure what to do.

I know there's a lot of seating in this room--we have 6-8 people in here a lot and we need the seating. Sometimes we arrange the ottomans in a square in the center; they look nicer that way. However, most of the time they are as shown in the pictures because we all put our feet up on them. This room is where we watch tv, where the kids play their video games, basically, where we do most of our living when we are not outside (like during this long, long, long winter).

Thank you for any advice or ideas! I welcome design advice in general on the room, but due to our circumstances the basics aren't likely to change...
