i recall seeing some mirrors at ikea that are in mosaic patterns that you stick to the wall to make designs. that would go well on each side of the tv.

Photos beside tv. Curtain rods closer to ceiling. Add a border on bottom with fabric glue.

I think that the lamp that is on your console table covers up the art too much! I would put a floor lamp in a corner. Here are a few options:

What a lovely room. You have beautiful pieces of furniture.
Some ideas:
- a floor lamp in the corner near the window, something with a light shade like Warner Decor's suggestions
- art on that side of the TV. Since you obviously have good taste, I'm sure you'll find something you'll love to put there.
- lights above the bookcases, some ideas:

Beautiful room! I would paint the white trim over the fireplace the same color as the fireplace. The apparent height would give it elegance. Also, I would add drapery valances to the upper portion of the windows.

Lovely room...have you tried reversing the single chairs? The striped chair would be much more comfortable for sitting and reading with the lamp you have at the armless chair... Agree something green is needed for that corner...few more pillows on sofa would be nice.

One thing you may want to consider is transforming the tv into art itself. It looks to be the one element that sticks out in the room. Most rooms with tv's have it as the focal point, but if you are not watching it, that electronic component should blend with the rest of the room. Mounting the tv on the wall would help - after that there are some custom options that could help make the tv disappear when it is not in use.

Thank you for the great ideas. The only professional help I've used in this room is the draperies and she said to mount them below the transom :(. I also thought maybe they should have been ceiling height. Appreciate all ideas.

Push that chair back into the corner. Add a small round table and lamp. On the wall in that corner add some art, this creates a small sitting area near the window. After doing custom draperies for over 25 years I would lengthen the draperies, add a wide strip of fabric to the bottom. Rehang the draperies above the transom.

Gorgeous room! A vertical piece similar to the left of the TV would look great. Take your time to find the right item. A child's kimono? Black and white Chinese lettering?

I agree with Sue about your drapery panels. Above the transom, a slight break on the floor will look very chic and you'll be ready four Architectural Digest!

The paint color in this room is Benjamin Moore 710 - Kensington Green. It comes off much more blue than green. Glad you like the color.
