Looking for railroad ties to make a coffee table. I can't find any old ones that aren't treated with creosote. any advice?

    Rather than look for used railroad ties - which will by necessity have been coated with creosote...
    ...why not look for reclaimed timbers from other sources such as demolished buildings?
