We are building a new home. I want a farmhouse kitchen sink and I'm trying to decide between a solid granite sink and a slate sink. I'm wanting a somewhat rustic look, but the durability and maintenance are very important factors. I am attaching a picture of the granite sink I am considering ordering from Stone Forest. (It's the dark one in the middle in honed basalt). I'm also attaching a couple of pictures of slate sinks by Sheldon Slate which are very much like what I would order if I go with slate. Any information on the durability of either one? Which is less maintenance? Pros/cons of each? Thanks!
