Thanks for the samples. The House is a traditional raised ranch with white brick in front. The pool is on my property. I would say my style would be more Italian Rustic. My family came from Trier Germany so I would like to incorporate some kind of old world roman/germanic elements. Thanks again for your input.

Here is an Italian rustic type walkway. I don't think you could do an arbor the entire way down the slope, but it would be wonderful to have one for at least the beginning to lead people around to the back to your pool area :) You could break up the stone walkway with gravel to reduce cost and add another rustic element. Use traditional Italian cypress interspersed with other vegetation (photo 2)
